Details:
Electroslag remelting is a process that uses the resistance heat generated by liquid slag to melt, refine, and solidify a consumable metal electrode in a crystallizer. Electroslag remelted steel has many advantages, including high purity, dense structure, uniform composition, smooth surface, and excellent properties. The quality of steel and nickel-based alloys depends critically on their purity and microstructure. These two characteristics can be optimized by adding (electroslag) products during the steel and alloy ESR refining process. Electroslag remelting technology has been an important means of producing special materials since its inception. Slag is an indispensable raw material in the field of electroslag metallurgy, playing an important role in heat generation, refining, and ingot formation in electroslag metallurgy. The quality of the slag used directly affects the quality of the final product. The main components of the slag are CaF2, CaO, MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2, etc., and the raw materials come from fluorite, lime, magnesia, industrial alumina, quartz sand, titanium dioxide, etc. Domestic slag is mostly produced in a single step, while foreign countries use pre-melted slag for electroslag production, achieving good results.
Product Model
The typical composition of Electroslag remelting slag is: 40F/25/3/25/7: 40% CaF2, 25% CaO, 3% MgO, 25% Al2O3, 7% SiO2, other residual amounts controlled: ≤0.15% H2O, ≤0.3% FeO, ≤0.05% C, ≤0.005% P, ≤0.03% S. Hemispherical temperature 1233℃, viscosity at 1500℃ is 0.0359 Pa·s. Due to the extremely low water content in the slag and the strict control of impurities such as FeO, P, S, and Bi that easily cause ingot quality problems, the product quality is stable. The company mainly produces binary, ternary, quaternary, and quinary slag systems, which can also be divided into the following models:

Advantages
01
Stable slag composition to avoid the disadvantage of unstable slag composition during production.
02
Easy to arc slag formation, short time, good quality at the bottom of the steel ingot, and high yield.
03
Significantly simplifies or even eliminates slag baking, reducing the power consumption of slag baking.
04
The moisture content in the slag is extremely low, effectively preventing a large amount of hydrogen increase during the remelting process, preventing slag bursting during slag formation, and ensuring operational safety.
05
Using granular slag, less dust, less environmental pollution, and especially less wear and tear on the transmission parts of mechanical equipment.
06
From the domestic and international development point of view, using pre-melted slag for electroslag metallurgy production is an inevitable trend of future development.
